Adrenogenital syndrome in newborn

ABSTRACT

Severe acute dehydration in infants may occur in the context of multiple etiological causes the most common were acute gastroenteritis. But resistance to the treatment of electrolyte and acid base correction by the persistence of hyponatremia and associations with other clinical signs suggestive, undertake further investigations for the adrenogenital syndrome or “loss of salt”. Diagnosis and treatment of this constitutes an emergency because of risk of death in these infants are exposed. The authors present the case of a newborn derived from the twin pregnancy diagnosed with adrenogenital syndrome and its evolutive and treatment particularities.
