The Evaluation of Prenatal Hydronephrosis and Postnatal Management

ABSTRACT

The prenatal ultrasound advent has markedly changed the evaluation and management of hydronephrosis. If the classical solution to hydronephrosis was the surgical correction based on the premise that pelvic dilatation means pelvic obstruction, nowadays a more conservative approch is reccomended. Even so, the great dilemma remains to differentiate the clinically significant hydronephrosis from the transient one and to choose the optimal way to manage this cases.

Key words: hydronephrosis, prenatal diagnose, ultrasound

EVALUAREA HIDRONEFROZEI ANTENATALE SI MANAGEMENTUL POSTNATAL

I. Sârbu, Iulia Straticiuc Ciongradi and S.G. Aprodu
