In memoriam – Valeriu Popescu, MD, PhD (04.11.1924-17.01.2013)

Prof. Dr. Valeriu Popescu – the most prominent personality of romanian contemporary pediatric world - passed away recently, age 88. He graduated at Bucharest Faculty of Medicine (1995) and began his long and and fruitfull professional career as junior assistant in the Neurology Clinic of Romanian Academy Neurology Institute , having as mentors two emblematic Romanian neurologists – Prof. dr. Arthur Kreindler and Prof. Dr. Vlad Voiculescu

Comunitatea pediatrilor români s-a despărţit recent de cea mai proeminentă figură a Pediatriei contemporane – s-a stins, după o lungă şi nedreaptă suferinţă, Profesorul Doctor Valeriu Popescu. Absolvent de frunte al Facultăţii de Medicină din Bucureşti, în 1951, Domnia Sa şi-a început îndelungata şi fructuoasa carieră profesională ca preparator universitar în Clinica de Neurologie a Institutului de Neurologie al Academiei Române, sub conducerea a două fi guri emblematice ale Neuro logiei autohtone – Prof. Dr. Arthur Kreindler şi Prof. Dr. Vlad Voiculescu
