ABSTRACT

Essential hypertension is one of the most important health problems all over the world and a great risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Children are no longer “protected” from this pathology, and age related barrier has been passed in last decades. Nowadays, we are speaking about pediatric morbidity due to essential hypertension. Moreover, children have associated risk factors like obesity, dyslipidemia, and even atherosclerotic changes in arteries.

REZUMAT

Hipertensiunea arterială esenţială reprezintă o problemă de sănătate publică în întreaga lume şi constituie unul dintre cei mai puternici factori de risc pentru bolile cardiovasculare. La ora actuală, se constată o incidenţă crescută a acestei patologii la vârsta pediatrică şi mai mult, asocierea tot mai frecventă şi a altor factori de risc cum sunt obezitatea, dislipidemia, ateroscleroza.
