ABSTRACT

Addison disease is adrenocortical insufficiency due to the destruction or dysfunction of the entire adrenal cortex. It affects both glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid function. The onset of disease usually occurs when 90% or more of both adrenal cortices are dysfunctional or destroyed. We present a patient that had classic symptoms and signs of acute adrenal insufficiency, who was ultimately diagnosed with autoimmune adrenal insufficiency.

REZUMAT

Boala Addison reprezintă insuficienţa adrenocorticală datorată distrucţiei sau disfuncţiei cortexului adrenal. Afectează atât funcţia glucocorticoidă, cât şi pe cea mineralocorticoidă. De obicei, debutul bolii se înregistrează atunci când 90% sau mai mult din ambele cortexuri adrenale sunt distruse sau nefuncţionale. Prezentăm cazul unui pacient cu simptome şi semne clasice de insuficienţă adrenală acută, care a fost diagnosticat în cele din urmă cu insuficienţă adrenală autoimună.
